Carbon Neutral Dance

Since the topic of the Youth Forum 2009 was climate change, the GHF’s Youth Forum wanted to stick by its theme and try to offset the entire conference. What better way to do that than dance our CO2 footprint away? Worldview Impact, an organization that aims at mitigating climate change impacts at the grassroots level by creating sustainable jobs for the poor, helped curb our emissions with a “Carbon Neutral Dance”.

Held in the basement of the Villa Rigot, it featured loud music, a dark and crowded setting – who said that being environmentally friendly isn’t fun? The proceedings of the dance went to the planting of 100 rubber trees by Worldview Impact in one of their plantations in India, with each rubber tree named after a Youth Forum 2009 participant.

Worldview Impact’s CEO and founder is Bremley Lyngdoh, a 29 year old Indian native from Meghalaya,

whose passion is to create sustainable jobs for the poor while mitigating the impacts of climate change. If you would like to learn more about Bremley check out this video. If you would like to know more about Worldview Impact click here.
